Your Mandate

You will perform work involving the maintenance, repair, and refurbishment of plumbing systems or automatic irrigation systems and related accessories. All work must follow industry standards.

More specifically, you will:

  • Ensure proper maintenance of piping, taps, valves, and other accessories used for watering playgrounds, parks, and skating rinks.
  • Repair or replace defective plumbing pipes and fittings.
  • Install new equipment and fittings, such as sinks, urinals, toilets, and water points, as part of plumbing system modernization.
  • Unclog sinks, fountain basins, urinals, toilets, and vents.
  • Inspect the filtration systems of fountains and water features and ensure they function properly.
  • Wash and repair filter elements and basins.
  • Adjust the flow rate of pumps and valves.
  • Perform chlorination and alkalinity tests on the water.
  • Make necessary minor repairs and report major repairs to your immediate supervisor.
  • Perform various tests to determine the tightness, start-up, and shut-down of plumbing systems.

Profile Sought

  • Vocational diploma in plumbing and heating.
  • 2 years of experience related to the responsibilities of the position, more specifically as a journeyman pipefitter.
  • Class 5 driving licence.
  • Plumbing qualification certificate issued by Emploi Québec, or journeyman pipefitter competency certificate specializing in plumbing, issued by the Quebec Construction Commission.
  • Certificate of completion for the course “General Health and Safety on Construction Sites” (ASP).
