Baker Job in Canada: Discovery Co-operative is hiring a full-time Baker for its Bakery Department at Territorial Mall in North Battleford, Saskatchewan. The Baker will produce bakery goods from start to finish, including ordering, receiving, measuring, baking, decorating, displaying, and pricing. Applicants must be at least 18, have Grade 12, a baking degree or diploma, Journeyperson Baker status, 2+ years of bakery experience, and a Safe Food Handling Certificate. Evening, night, and weekend availability is required.

Discovery Co-operative is hiring a Full-Time Baker in our Bakery Department for our Territorial Mall located in North Battleford, SK.

What you’ll do

  • Provide an exceptional level of customer service.
  • Maintain a safe and efficient operation while following all Discovery Co-op, industry, and government policies, procedures, and standards, including established productivity standards.
  • Be responsible for producing goods in a scratch-to-finish bakery. This includes ordering, receiving, measuring, baking, decorating, displaying, and pricing.
  • May update and train all existing and new team members on proper techniques and new items and ensure correct procedures are followed.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties, assist team members when necessary, and perform any other duties as assigned.

Who you are

You are looking for a career in Retail and:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be available to work evenings, nights, and weekends.
  • Grade 12 is required.
  • Postgraduate degree/diploma in baking from a recognized post-secondary institute.
  • Journeyperson Baker.
  • 2+ years of bakery experience.
  • Co-operative retail experience is an asset.
  • Cake decorating experience is an asset.
  • Safe Food Handling Certificate is required.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, have good manual dexterity, and be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
