Crossmuller is hiring experienced Fabricators/Welders from the Philippines to join its Mt Gambier construction team for the setup of a new wood processing mill.
Position Summary
The Fabricator/Welder will fabricate and weld large plate steel structures and components. Work must follow technical drawings and specifications.
This is a hands-on role based in Mt Gambier, South Australia. It is suitable for skilled Filipino tradespeople who are willing to relocate and work as part of an Australian engineering team.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and understand fabrication drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Perform high-quality MIG, TIG, or ARC welding.
- Fabricate structural steel.
- Make sure work meets Australian standards.
- Check accuracy and quality.
- Supervise and assist apprentices when needed.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas.
- Follow safety and housekeeping standards.
- Work with project supervisors to meet production deadlines.
Qualifications
- Trade qualification in Fabrication, Welding, or Metal Works.
- At least 3–5 years of experience in steel fabrication or industrial welding.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good accuracy and safety awareness.
- Ability to read detailed shop drawings.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred but Not Essential
- Experience in plate fabrication.
- Forklift, EWP, or Working at Heights certification.
- Dogging or rigging licence.
- Experience operating overhead cranes.
